IDK if you're getting any news updates out there, but... Yes, the chief is missing. No, you do not need to come back. I'm going to look into it with Baudin and whomever else I can scrounge up. Whatever you're doing out there, focus on that.

Gone. Vanished into thin air. I thought things were a little fishy when Founders Day just... didn't happen. But now the mayor, police chief, fire chief, the whole city council. They're all gone. And a glowing blue line is leading us back down into the subway. I'm going to focus on the chief though.

I feel like this is some sort of hilarious reversal of August, except Baudin is still here as well. But no, until we know what we're dealing with back here, better for you guys to focus on whatever you're doing out there.

We will. The new (to us) Retrospec employee was a little snide about the fact we need everyone to run the city, even if they're not aware of all the Retrospecy things going on.

Yeah. They noticed all right. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing, I've yet to determine. Hopefully good?

Carlisle is actually giving some straight answers. Some are going to need more detail when things aren't crashing down around our ears, but they answered enough to say that they're another person like us. Someone getting the memories from another person. A lot farther along the track than us, but they haven't remembered everything yet.

Maybe it's good. Maybe the Chief'll notice things when you get her back. Or maybe this is actually not Retrospec's fault, and someone out there just has the worst timing.

Is he? Huh. I'll have to see if I can get an 'appointment' with him. I wonder how he ended up in his current position.

Like back in August when they said the unreality wasn't their fault? We ever determine whose fault it was?

Frankly, I was thinking something a lot more mundane like a kidnapping. If it’s something that people outside of the network can notice, maybe it was just something normal that took them, but it happened to coincide with this ‘unreality storm.’ What I meant by the worst timing ever.

Please, please let it be a perfectly mundane kidnapping. Though, that would have taken a lot of planning, to snatch so many high profile individuals.

I can see a lot of ways it's more likely to be Retrospec, I can also see a lot of ways it's more likely to be mundane. If all I can do is advise, then my opinion is, don't count out something that just happens to be another person.

How's the injury? I know you're going to do this anyway, but I'm going to ask.

Well, even if it does end up being mundane, at least Retrospec is helping us find them.

I've been cleared for light exercise. Hence why I'm taking Baudin with me. And Yoon-sung.

Do you have a good reason to suspect that the Chief and the others didn't get grabbed by another Retrospec user? Would explain why Retrospec is bothering to help this time.

You think a Retrospec user might be responsible? The last time a Retrospec user committed a kidnapping they didn't do anything. Or do you think they're stepping in this time because it's high profile nappers?

It's a possibility. One I really don't like. Retrospec might be either speaking up because it's so high-profile, or because the timing is so bad. They can't let something so unpredictable go on in the middle of a mission like this.

True. It's taken some of us away from doing what they're wanting us to do near the city.

I get what they're up to, and it's interesting. The cities are out there, but they need to get connected back to Recolle. Almost like rebuilding a neural pathway to a memory.

That is an important part of the mission, but the Chief is more important.

Seriously. I am more than happy to go poking around in the subway tunnels looking for the Chief while everyone else goes...

Yeah, trying not to think about the fact I don't remember any of that being out there.

Why begs the question of "why?" Why couldn't we see it? Why don't we remember it being there? Or is Carlisle implying Retrospec has kept us from being able to tell it was there because they weren't ready for us to see it yet?
