Assault cases can still be an issue even if the fight was consensual. At minimum, you're looking at disorderly conduct. Doubly so if you're very specifically calling it a fight club, because I think those are classified as a subversive group.

I need to state my objections to doing this. This is exactly why I went into law enforcement instead of anything else. You're asking me to find a way to skirt around the law as it exists.

You want to learn to fight safely, the answer is to go to authorized gyms and dojos, places that fall under the various sport commissions of the state. But if you're doing things that violate their various commissions, like swinging swords at each other in a boxing gym? You're putting their own licensure at risk.

i'm not trying to break the law here or even skirt around it, i'm trying to do all this by the books so that ANYBODY from the network can come without freaking out they're gonna get in trouble. so if that means needing to find private space and make people sign waivers saying they're doing this at their own risk, then that's what i'll figure out

if we do this, it's somewhere safe for everyone to learn. i got lucky, i remembered how to fight back in march so i knew what i was doing last month when we had those spiders attacking us. but what if i hadn't? what if i hadn't been practicing on my own for the past month and a half and only found out when i got jumped?

If you want to take this on, thank you. My last piece of advice is one that I'm giving to a lot of people, which is to make sure that it doesn't just hinge on one person. So that things don't fall apart when Retrospec decides, for whatever reason, that they're done with you, and you wake up and remember nothing.
