I am, for whatever reason, helping Retrospec with whatever it is they need.
After last time this happened, I suspect there will be more fighting ahead.
I have my sword, but I'm worried that won't be enough.
Is there a legal way you could lend me a gun and some clips?

Now there's a loaded question. Mind the pun.

How much of your firearm training have you had yet? Are you sure you're even up for using a gun in a combat setting? Let's start there.

None yet, sir.
That starts in March.
I'm not sure I am, to be honest.
But I'm worried about what will happen if I need one and don't have it.

The hardest lesson in this job is to know that you cannot be prepared for everything. What if X happens and I'm not ready? It's not a question that ever goes away.

With a gun, untrained, there's a chance you could do more harm than good. How prepared do you think you are for that?

I don't know, sir.
But I do know I have fists and my sword.
I only intend to use the gun if I have no other option.
When things can't possibly get worse.

[There is an exceptionally long pause before Togusa's response. Cleo knows enough to know that this is a burden she's asking for, not an easy way out. Does he dare try to tell her she shouldn't need it?]

That's him! Just sitting on a damn bus in spandex like it's nothing!

[Togusa is just staring out into space with the most incredulous look on his face. The brass on this guy.]

Okay. Now's the time to remind you you're still a trainee. And that anyone wanting to help is a good thing. And that that's not Dante or Noctis or Prompto or James, so I actually don't know how powerful he is.

I understand, sir.
That said, looking at him, I get the feeling I could take him.
I've gotten some new magic.
And I don't get the feeling of someone strong from him.

Whatever he does have, he thinks he's using it to help people. That's a kind of strength.
If you don't think he's up to the power level of the job, then keep an eye on him. The reason I want to eventually yell at this guy is to keep himself from getting hurt.

I don't know why, but I'm confident he's nothing to worry about.

Got Officers Hoboken and Tenmyouji with me. Looks like none of us were going to turn Retrospec down.

It makes sense.
I despise Retrospec, and every person who is part of them.
But if they need help, I can't just ignore them.
I imagine most police officers are the same.
Where are you headed?

The Beach, which should be bitter-cold, but it's a little warmer today. Maybe I'm just thinking that because the sun's finally out again.

Any idea where the bus is going?

Judging from the state of the bus... Very north.
They gave us books and video games to pass the time.
It's not helping.

On a related note, if I hear '99 bottles of beer on the wall' one more time, I may lose control of my actions.

I doubt if you have enough non-natives to counter with 'Kaeru no uta ga.' THAT'S annoying.

Keep sending messages. I've got an odd feeling about this one. What happens if we don't lose range of Retrospec?

It's a good thing, but it's also an interesting thing. Retrospec's range previously dropped out anywhere outside of the city. If we don't lose touch, we aren't going into an unreality twist, either.

Ugh.
"Unreality" again.
If that starts again, I will demand a definition of that from Retrospec.

But it's different, isn't it? Retrospec is extending outside of Recolle, and that might be a good thing.
