[It's probably not hard to tell who this memory of someone cutting their finger on some tinfoil badly enough to bleed ink, cursing, and then drinking some ink they had in their pocket to heal it belongs to. Even if he couldn't recognize Shuji from a first-person view, Shuji swearing in his own voice is pretty distinct.

On the other hand, Shuji has no idea where this talk about the ghost in the shell and cyberization came from?? He doesn't know to look for Togusa, even if he does want to talk about it with somebody.]

[For a second, when the memory starts, Togusa already has his phone out and is ready to call Koutarou. He's seen memories of another person before.

But the voice is wrong. He knows Koutarou's voice as well as his own, and this is not it. It actually takes him time, part of a day, to track down who it is. He has to go back and compare to some of his old memory files, before he matches the voice. Tsushima?

It's evening-time before he figures out what to even say to the man. It helps that this has happened before.]

I got a weird lesson about souls in computers that was probably somebody's memory. What about you?

I saw something that I thought would be Koutarou's. But I could hear your voice. Have you been around when Koutarou has been hurt before?

Yes. But we both bleed ink, so if that's what you saw that made you think it was Koutarou's, it could just be mine.

Do you have people who know how to help you out when you've gotten hurt?

A few people do. I've never been so badly injured that I couldn't tell someone what would fix me, but I shouldn't take that for granted...

Well. Because of Koutarou, don't hesitate to contact me if you need help in an emergency. I keep a bottle on me all the time, now. Koutarou had a close call, and if it's the only thing I can do for him?

I try to keep one on me too, but I'll remember that just in case.

How close a call?

Much worse if I hadn't found him. He was too out of it to be able to take care of himself, but if he had let himself fall asleep, he would have just kept bleeding out. From my perspective, the bigger danger for him, and you, is that no healing or clotting can occur on its own.

This is going to sound like a really weird question and I promise I'll explain, but were there any letters or markings on his body before he was healed up?

Uh. Yes. It was almost like he was bleeding out words, they were appearing near the wound.

Does the same thing happen to you?

Almost exactly, down to being too out of it to give coherent medical advice.

Okay. That is even more terrifying now that I've seen it happen.

The medical advice I got, when Lucian was still on the app, was to treat Koutarou almost like a hemophiliac, the key is going to be to stop you losing more ink, get wounds covered quickly, and then start replenishing ink as fast as you can.

Sounds about right to me. I don't have anything to add other than 'you know that book that turns into a gun that Koutarou has? Maybe try not to damage that.'

Wait, yes I know the gun, but what does that have to do with this!?

I have not tested damaging those books, as such. However, in our past lives Koutarou and I were spirits called out from inside those books.

I really don't want to find out what happens when, essentially, the basis of a person's current existence is damaged.

I really think I need to talk to Koutarou about this. It's not right for me to know too much without him knowing.

I don't know how much he has or hasn't remembered, but you should talk to him.

Mine turns into a scythe, which is still a stupid edgelord weapon and not something anyone should ever want to use for combat.

I don't know. And like I said, I haven't actually seen what happens if it gets damaged. It might be nothing.

I have, but generally in a weapon you want the sharp part to be pointed not at you.

The inner curve is the one that's sharp, so your movements, they end up being very circular, I'm guessing? How does it even work?

Both curves are sharp on this one, so that's something. But the battle style is still pretty fluid?
